As part of our inquiry learning about Sand, Surf, St Clair: Scratching the Surface we have been learning that not all beaches are the same. We have been looking at our local landforms and then we compared them with the landforms down at Portobello. We have also been learning how to present our work in different ways so decided to try making powerpoints to show off some of new skills. It has been exciting learning and we thought we'd share some of them with you....

In room 9, we have been learning about the key understandning - the things we do and don't do affect our world (in our case the St Clair area). As part of our 'going further', we decided to make a board-game of snakes and ladders. To go up the ladders, you have to do something good e.g. you pick up someone else's rubbish, you clean up after your dog etc. To go down the snakes you do something that is not good for our environment e.g. you stomp through the sand dunes and damage the ice plants, you pour paint down the drain. Here are some photos of us playing the games and enjoying them. Next week we are going to play them with another class and share our knowledge with them.
